During his teenage years, Anthony resided in Wolcott, Connecticut.He started taking an interest in politics during his teenage years as he enjoyed listening to the work of musician Jello Biafra who is the former lead singer of the hardcore punk band Dead Kennedys. Anthony also considers him to be his idol.Fantano began his career as a music director for the Southern Connecticut State University college radio station in mid-2000. Later, in 2007, Anthony began working at Connecticut Public Radio (WNPR), where he hosted The Needle Drop. The same year, he also began his YouTube channel titled The Needle Drop.He had been featured in a cameo appearance as Lil Nas X‘s video for the Young Thug and Mason Ramsey remix of Old Town Road.During the 2011 O Music Awards, The Needle Drop won the category of “Beyond the Blog”.In his late teens, Anthony began following a vegetarian diet before going on to become a vegan.His most-popular YouTube channel was titled fantano on May 18, 2017.
